Amid pick up in demand at the domestic spot market against restricted arrivals from producing regions, refined soya oil prices were up by 0.27 per cent to Rs 744 per 10 kg in futures trade today as speculators built up fresh positions.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, refined soya oil for delivery in August went up by Rs 2, or 0.27 per cent, to Rs 744 per 10 kg with an open interest of 40,130 lots.
Similarly, the oil for delivery in September contracts edged up by Rs 1.70, or 0.23 per cent, to Rs 740.70 per 10 kg in 28,320 lots.
Analysts said fresh positions created by traders, driven by pick up in demand in the spot market against restricted supplies from producing belts pushed up refined soya oil prices in futures trade.
