Police today arrested four more persons for their alleged involvement in the murderous attack on Sikh preacher Ranjit Singh Dhadriawale here on Tuesday.

Police commissioner Jatinder Singh Aulukh said the assailants were arrested from Jalandhar-Pathankot road near village Krishan Garh.

They have been identified as Sukhwinder Singh alias Sonu (Chowk Mehta), Manveer Singh alias Mahant (village Sudhar Ludhiana), Gurpreet Singh alias Gopi (Haridwar) Satnam Singh (Kotkapura - Faridkot).

They have confessed their involvement in the attack, the CP said, adding the police had also impounded their SUV.

He said that the raiding party was jointly led by ADCP (Investigations) Balkar Singh and ADCP Parmjit Singh Pannu.

It may be recalled that a group of armed youths had fired at Sant Ranjit Singh Dhadriawale's convoy here on Tuesday, killing another preacher Sant Bhupinder Singh Khalsa on the spot, however, he himself had a narrow escape.

They were on way to address a religious function in a nearby village Isewal when the attack took place.

Four persons were already arrested and were on police remand.
