Remnants of militancy still in JK, says Army officer

"Although militancy has come down but the residual militancy has to wiped out in Jammu and Kashmir," said Dilbagh Singh, Inspector General of Police, Jammu range.

Singh reviewed counter-infiltration security grid along the Line of Control in Rajouri today.

To review security situation and anti-militancy operation launched by the police in the remote areas of various places in the Jammu Zone, the IGP also visited Sunderbani, Nowshera, Rajouri, Thanamandi and Shahdara Sharief of Rajouri.

Singh is on a three-day tour of Rajouri-Poonch districts.

During his visit to different police stations, Singh emphasised on professional investigation of the cases, tracing of absconders and missing persons and also to provide services to the public, like passport and service verification at their doorsteps in minimum possible time.
