In the wake of Supreme Court's recent ruling to scrap reservation for Jats, an OBC federation today said the community should be removed from Rajasthan's quota list of OBCs so that the other castes get justice.
"Rajasthan Original OBC Federation (RO-OBCF) will hold a day-long dharna to press their demand to remove Jat community from the OBC list at Udyog Maidan on April 18," the outfit's officer-bearers Rajkumar Cheepa and Rajendra Singh Gudha said during a press conference here.
A public awareness campaign regarding this would be launched from Sriganganagar district on April 26, they said.
The Supreme Court had on March 17 set aside the decision of former UPA regime to include Jats in central list of Other Backward Classes (OBCs) to accord quota benefits to them following which, the Centre had moved the apex court on April 1, seeking review of its decision.
