On Saturday, Firhad Hakim was removed from the post of government spokesperson and was asked to keep a low profile by the Trinamool leadership, following heavy pressure from quarters for his alleged role in shielding some of those involved in the February 12 violence. When Governor M K Narayanan was asked today whether he felt that Hakim should be arrested or removed from his post for allegedly playing a role, he said, "No". However, Ray today claimed that the report of Hakim being asked to keep a low profile and being removed from the post of government spokesperson was a media creation.
