Security was beefed-up across Tripura and its 856 km long border with Bangladesh in view of the 68th Republic Day celebration tomorrow.
"Security measures were tightened across the state and BSF was alerted. Additional security forces were deployed before vital installations like Raj Bhavan, Civil Secretariat, and Assembly House," SP (security) Kamal Chakraborty said.
Patrolling was intensified in remote and hilly areas by deploying Tripura State Rifles (TSR) and other central paramilitary forces, Chakraborty told reporters.
