In view of the elections to 40 constituencies of the Bodoland Territorial Council in Assam to be held on April 8 next, the State Election Commission has issued restrictions on conduct of any opinion poll or discussion on BTC election.
The restrictions were on conduct of any opinion poll or discussion which may suggest predicting election performances or prospects of political parties or candidates contesting the election, said a government release today.
The Commission has also prohibited the conduct of any exit poll and publication and dissemination of results of such exit poll during the period between 8 am and 6 pm on April 8 by both print and electronic media "in the interest of free and fair elections".
