Revenue clerk arrested for accepting bribe

Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) today arrested a revenue clerk for allegedly taking bribe of Rs 1,500.

Deputy SP (ACB) Sunil Kalgutkar of the Raigadh unit told PTI the clerk, Vivek Duparguse, posted at Roha Tehasil office had demanded Rs 2,000 from the complainant for closing a case filed at the tehsil office.

He later settled for Rs 1,500. Following a complaint, a trap was laid and Duparguse was nabbed while accepting the bribe.

A case under relevant sections of Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered, police said.
