Rhino dies in zoo

A male rhino died in the Assam

The 38-year old rhino, named Laxman, was ailing for the past few days and died yesterday, zoo officials said.

The rhino was rescued at the age of ten from Kuruwa area in Darrang district in 1980 during the floods and was brought to the zoo.

The usual lifespan of a rhino in a zoo is 40 years.
