Rich tributes paid to social reformer Phule

Rich tributes were paid to social reformer Jyotiba Phule on his 191st birth anniversary by Telangana government and various parties and organisations here today.

Speaking at an event, state Animal Husbandry minister T Srinivas Yadav recalled Phule's contribution in the field of education.

State Congress president N Uttam Kumar Reddy and other party leaders garlanded his statue at Amberpet here.

At an event organised at the BJP office here, state party president K Laxman hailed Phule's contribution.

The Narendra Modi government is taking steps to spread the message of great personalities like B R Ambedkar, but the opposition parties indulged in misinformation campaign against it, Laxman alleged.

 

Telugu Desam Party's Telangana unit leaders organised a function to mark the anniversary at the party office here.

Phule was a social reformer, writer and worked for eradication of untouchability and the caste system.
