Rifles seized in Mizoram

In a joint operation, Mizoram

police and Assam Rifles personnel seized two M-3 rifles and three magazines at Mizoram-Manipur-Myanmar border Hnahlan village yesterday, police said.

Police said that Chingsianpianga (36) of Darkhai village, Myanmar was arrested in this connection and a case was filed against the latter at Champhai police station where he was being detained.

Interrogations revealed that the arms were smuggled from Myanmar.
