Refined soya oil prices rose by 0.88 per cent to Rs 617.90 per 10 kg in futures trade today as traders built up fresh positions amid pick up in demand in the spot market.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, refined soya oil for delivery in May rose by Rs 5.40, or 0.88 per cent to Rs 617.90 per 10 kg with an open interest of 27,640 lots.

Likewise, the oil for delivery in June traded higher by Rs 4.70, or 0.77 per cent, to Rs 618 per 10 kg in 51,270 lots.

Analysts said fresh positions created by traders, driven by uptick in demand at the spot market against tight stocks position on fall in supplies from producing belts mainly led to the rise in refined soya oil prices at futures trade.
