A group of armed robbers today looted cash and valuables from passengers on the Delhi-bound GT Express after the train had just crossed Agra.

According to Government Railway Police DSP Amrit Lal, the incident took place at around 3.A.M when about half-a-dozen miscreants boarded the superfast train coming from Chennai after it had left Agra station.

Entering coach B2 right after the train had crossed Runakta station, the goons produced countrymade revolvers and threatened the passengers into handing over their cash and valuables.

Anybody who tried to resist was thrashed by the robbers, said Ajaykant Garg, one of the passengers of coach B2.

Having gathered the booty in a few minutes, the robbers pulled the chain to escape from the train near Farah, the DSP added.

A case has been registered in connection with the robbery and a search has been launched to nab the accused, GRP sources added.
