Robust demand lifts refined soya oil futures by 0.54%

Refined prices climbed by 0.54 per cent to Rs 762.75 per 10 kg in futures trade today as speculators built up fresh positions amid upsurge in demand at the spot market.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, refined for delivery in August shot up by Rs 4.10, or 0.54 per cent, to Rs 762.75 per 10 kg with an open interest of 34,180 lots.

Similarly, the for delivery in July contracts was trading higher by Rs 2.95, or 0.39 per cent, to Rs 758 per 10 kg in 30,640 lots.

Analysts said fresh positions created by traders following pick up in demand in the spot market against restricted arrivals from producing belts, pushed up refined prices in futures trade.
