Robust spot demand lifts nickel by 0.39%

Nickel prices went up by 0.39 per cent to Rs 883.80 per kg in futures trading today as speculators built up fresh positions after pick up in demand from consuming industries in the spot market.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, nickel for delivery in April edged up by Rs 3.40, or 0.39 per cent to Rs 883.80 per kg in business turnover of 40 lots.

Similarly, the metal for delivery in March gained Rs 3.20, or 0.36 per cent to Rs 880.10 per kg in 773 lots.

Market analysts said fresh positions created by participants due to upsurge in demand from alloy-makers in the physical market, influenced nickel prices at futures trade.
