Rs 1.83 Cr, 14,735 litres of liquor seized in Karnataka

Authorities have seized cash of more than Rs 1.83 crore and 14,735 litres of liquor meant to woo voters in the May five Assembly elections in Karnataka.
The confiscation till yesterday includes Rs 41 lakh recovered in Bellary and Rs 80 lakh in Davangere, Karnataka Chief Electoral Officer Anil Kumar Jha told reporters here.
As many as 165 cases have been booked in this connection as also other violations of model code of conduct.
