The Potential Linked Credit Plan for the district for Rs.10,031 crore for 2014-15, was released by Collector Archana Patnaik, here today.
The plan allocation was 20.65 per cent more than last year and about 42 per cent was allotted to agricultural sector as crop loans, worth Rs.2453.66 crore, and long term loans, Arulselvan, the District Development Manager, NABARD, which prepared the plan, said.
Similarly, 41 per cent was allotted to SME sector,he said.
Archana asked the banks to extend more loans to agriculture sector.
Coimbatore MP, P R Natarajan, Valparai MLA, M Arumugham and senior officials of various banks were present during the release function, where the performance of the banks was also reviewed.
