Rs 10 coins to be issued on diamond jubilee of Coir Board

The Reserve Bank will soon put to circulation Rs 10 denominated coins on the occasion of diamond jubilee of Coir Board.

"The government has minted the above mentioned coins which the Reserve Bank of India will shortly put into circulation," RBI said in a notification today.

RBI said the details regarding design, shape of these coins have been notified in the gazette of government of India, dated February 20, 2014.

"These coins are legal tender as provided in The Coinage Act 2011," RBI added.

The existing coins in this denomination shall also continue to be legal tender, it said.
