Five motorcycle borne miscreants today shot at a staff of a car showroom here and looted Rs 10 lakh from him when he was going to the bank to deposit it, police said.
The incident occurred near Tilka Manjhi chowk when the man alighted from his bike. The five miscrenats were waiting at the spot and shot at him before decamping with the bag containing the money, senior superintendent of police Manoj Kumar said.
The man was admitted to Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College and Hospital, Bhagalpur and then sent to Patna for treatment, he said.
Police are trying to identify the miscreants with the help of CCTV footage, the SP said.
An FIR has been lodged with Tilka Manjhi police station based on the statement of showroom owner, the SP added.
