Rs 133 crore sanctioned for infrastructure; Minister

The Andhra Pradesh government is taking all efforts to provide houses to the poor and sanctioned Rs 133 crore for providing infrastructure, Municipal administration minister P Narayana said here today.

The infrastructure would include water, drainage, community hall and schools, he said, adding completed houses would be allocated soon to the beneficiaries.

Speaking after inspecting a house being built under Pradhan Mantri Awaz Yojana and NTR Town housing construction scheme at nearby Bommuru, he said government was 6.81 lakh houses for the poor,

Workshas been speeded up for 4,200 houses in the first phase here and sanction has been accorded for another 3676 houses in the second phase, Narayana added.

 

"The state government is ready to construct 10,000 houses for poor on the request of representatives or MLCs, MLAs," he said.

Rajahmundry MP M Murali Mohan said the houses would be allocated in the name of women only and urged the minister to provide financial aid to the poor for constructing houses on their own land,( who have land).
