Four persons have been arrested by the Crime Branch of Delhi Police for allegedly being part of two separate gangs of drug traffickers with Rs 2.5 crore worth of contraband seized from the accused.
According to police, which claimed to have busted two separate gangs through the arrests, 2.2-kg heroin and 141-kg of cannabis were seized from the accused persons.
Police said that two of the accused, identified as Belraj Sheikh, a resident of Mukundpur Extension, and Gulsher, a resident of Paharganj, were arrested yesterday following a tip-off.

"We got information that a drug trafficker would be coming towards Minto Road yesterday. We then laid a trap and arrested Sheikh and Gulsher. We recovered over 2-kg heroin from their possession," said a senior police officer, adding that Belraj used to procure the drug from his contact near the Jharkhand/ West Bengal border.
The second haul, of 141-kg cannabis, was seized from Sudhir Rathee, a resident of Najafgarh Road, and Jatin Manchanda of Haryana after police received a tip-off that some drug traffickers would be coming towards Rohini in a car on May 25.
"A trap was laid and we arrested Rathee and Manchanda. A search of their car yielded six white-coloured plastic sacks containing 141-kg of cannabis," said a police officer.
