Rs 27 lakh worth gold biscuits seized from three persons

Gold biscuits worth Rs 27 lakh were seized today from three persons, including two Sri Lankans, after they arrived here separately from the island nation and Malaysia, airport sources said.

Gold weighing 585 gram worth Rs 18 lakh was seized from the Sri Lankans after they arrived here on a flight from Colombo at around 4.30 AM, they said, adding the duo were arrested by Customs for illegal smuggling.

In another incident, one person carrying gold worth Rs 9 lakh was arrested on his arrival on board a flight from Kuala Lumpur around 7.30 AM, the sources said.
