Rs 4.8 lakh looted from former minister's petrol pump

Armed miscreants looted Rs 4.8 lakh from a petrol pump owned by former state minister Veena Shahi in Vaishali district of Bihar today morning, the police said.
Vaishali Superintendent of Police (SP) Rakesh Kumar said the incident happened at the petrol pump located along National Highway - 77 under Bhagwanpur police station in the district.
"Five criminals armed with pistols approached the cash counter of the petrol pump on two motorcycles. They looted Rs 4.8 lakh and fled on their bikes," Kumar said.
The SP added that the petrol pump manager informed about the loot to the police, which reached there quickly and inspected the place of occurrence. Raids are being conducted to trace and arrest the criminals.
