Rs 54 lakh disbursed among surrendered Maoists in Gadchiroli

The Gadchiroli district administration disbursed Rs 54.50 lakhs to 18 surrendered Maoists, including seven women cadre, at a function conducted at the district headquarters today.

As many as 48 Maoists of various positions in different squads had surrendered in the year 2013.

District Collector Ranjeet Kumar presided over the function while District Superintendent of Police Suvez Haq was the chief guest.

Among the surrendered Maoists, Rajesh Kumar Komti Doge Lekhami was given a highest amount of Rs 6.50 lakh, official sources said.

Additional Superintendent of Police Rajkumar Shinde and District Civil Surgeon R S Farooque were also present at the function, sources said.
