Rs 70 lakh hawala money seized from bus passenger

'Hawala' money to the tune of Rs 70 lakh was today seized and one person detained in this connection at Vadakara in the district, excise officials said.

The money was seized from passenger travelling on board a Kannur-Thrissur private bus during a routine vehicle check this morning on Vadakara-Madapalli national highways, officials said.

T K Faizal (28) of Kakkad in Kannur district has been detained in connection with it, they said.
