Rs.8.6 lakh robbed from shop

Weekly collection of Rs 8.6 lakh was today found missing from a wholesale cosmetic shop here, police said.

According to police, the money was kept in the locker on Saturday night by one Jaiprakash, who had left for Udumalpet after locking the locker and the front door.

The watchman was shocked to find the door of the shop opened without any damage to the locks.Besides, the locker in which the cash was kept, was also found open without being tampered, this morning, they said,

Police are interrogating the staff since they suspect this could be the handiwork of someone familiar with the layout of the shop.
