Rajya Sabha today condoled the deaths in a a train accident in Bihar.
Many persons lost their lives and several others were injured when they were run over by Rajyarani Express at Dhamara Ghat railway station between Saharsa and Khagaria in Bihar yesterday.
As the House met for the day, Deputy Chairman P J Kurien said the loss of so many innocent lives is "indeed very tragic".
"I am sure the whole House will join me in expressing our heartful sympathy and condolences for the families of those who lost their near and dear ones and pray for the speedy recovery of those who were injured," he said.
The members rose in their places and observed silence as a mark of respect to the memory of those who lost their lives.
