S K Bhagat appointed RPF DG

Senior IPS officer S K Bhagat has been appointed as Director General of Railways Protection Force (RPF), entrusted with responsibility of protecting railway property and passengers.

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the appointment of Bhagat, a 1982 batch IPS officer of Uttarakhand cadre, as DG, RPF, Railway Board till the date of his superannuation on June 30, 2017, an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training said.

He is presently working as Special Director General in Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF).
