S.Rlys announces cancellation of trains

The Nizamuddin-bound weekly Express from Ernakulam, scheduled for departure on June 27, has been cancelled in view of damage to a key signal control system at Itarsi Junction in Madhya Pradesh following a major fire last week, Southern Railway announced today.

Train No 12645 Ernakulam-Nizamuddin Express sceduled to leave Ernakulam Junction at 7 pm on June 27 had been cancelled, a SR release said here.

A report from Madurai said the Madurai-Dehradun Bi-Weekly Express (Via Chennai) scheduled to leave today has been cancelled.

Services of more than 180 trains have been affected due to the fire at the Route Relay Interlocking (RRI) cabin at Itarsi on June 17 with Railways saying it would take more than a month to restore the signal system.
