SAF jawan shoots himself

A jawan working with the Special Armed Force (SAF) of the Madhya Pradesh police allegedly committed suicide here today.

Ashok Singh Chouhan (45) was on duty at Datia rest house when he shot himself using his service rifle, said Ajay Bhargava, the officer in-charge of Kotwali police station.

What prompted him to take the extreme step was not yet known and police were conducting further probe, Bhargava said.
