Samco Ventures raises Rs 49 crore in series-B round

Samco Ventures, parent of online discount broker and the owner of mobile trading platform StockNote Samco Securities, today said it has raised Rs 49 crore in series-B funding round led by the existing promoters and Bay Capital Investments.

This follows a Rs 20 crore series-A funding raised by the company in financial year 2015-16.

The company will use the new proceeds towards building its mutual fund distribution, lending capability, research and advisory businesses, Samco Securities and StockNote founder and CEO Jimeet Modi said in a release.

*************** Constantia Flexibles aims to double sales in India in 5 years *

Austria-headquartered flexible packaging company Constantia Flexibles, which recently acquired a majority stake in India's Creative Polypack, today said it is aiming to double its sales in India within the next five years.

 

Through the acquisition, Constantia Flexibles is already India's third largest flexible packaging group and is expecting to reach the Rs 1,600 crore sales mark in 2022, through market growth and ongoing investments, the company said in a release issued here.

*************** Ogilvy wins communication mandate for Chumbak *

Advertising agency Ogilvy today said its Bengaluru office has been awarded the mandate for lifestyle brand Chumbak following a multi-agency pitch.

Chumbak has an offline presence with 25 stores in 12 cities and an online presence across the country.

"In Ogilvy we found the perfect partner to realise our ambitions both as a brand and a business," Chumbak CEO and co-founder Vivek Prabhakar said in a statement.

*************** Sun Pharma enters anti-fungal powder OTC category *

Sun Pharma Consumer Healthcare, part of Sun Pharmaceutical Industries, today said it has entered the anti-fungal powder OTC (over the counter) category with its brand Abzorb.

The brand will be co-promoted across prescription and OTC channels in India to drive growth, it said in a statement.
