The Haryana government said today that village sarpanches will now be allowed to carry out development work up to Rs 20 lakh as against the previous limit of Rs 10 lakh.
This announcement was made by the state development and panchayats minister O P Dhankar in a release here.
Under the previous government, the sarpanches had the power to carry out works up to Rs 10 lakh only.
