SC defers hearing on Neyyar river dispute

The Supreme Court today deferred for four weeks the hearing on the Neyyar river dispute between Tamil Nadu and Kerala and asked the states to identify issues to be decided by it.
A bench of justices R M Lodha and S K Singh asked the states to decide and exchange the issues between them before submitting it to the court.
The counsel appearing for Tamil Nadu pleaded for interim relief, but the bench said it would look into their demand and adjourned the hearing.
During the hearing, the issue of Mullaiperiyar dam was also referred and the bench said that it would take some time to deliver the verdict as the voluminous records have been filed in the case.
