After over a gap of one month without monsoon, scattered rains today lashed parts of Jaipur district giving minor respite from hot and humid weather conditions, a MeT report said.

Jaipur city was lashed with moderate rains this afternoon giving relief to people from sultry weather. The pink city recorded about 2 mm of rainfall, the report said.

Little to moderate rains also occurred at a few places in Kota, Jhalawar, Churu and Jhunjhunu districts since last night.

However the weatherman said it was not monsoonal rain but a local phenomenon of rains due to high moisture level in air and low lying pressure.

Meanwhile, Churu recorded the maximum temperature of 39.7 degree C followed by Sriganganagar 39.5, and Jaipur 38.1 degree C.

Light to moderate rains may occur at a few places in the state in next 24 hours, a forecast said.
