The Singhbhum Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) today urged the Union Government to bring all the traders and industrialists registered under Good and Services Tax (GST) under group life insurance cover.
In a letter sent to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi today, SCCI general secretary, Vijay Anand Moonka stated that though the traders and industrialists have been functioning as tax collectors-collecting tax from the customers and depositing in governments account - on behalf of the government but were not getting any benefit in lieu of it.
Demanding for group insurance for all the GST registered traders and industrialists in the country, Moonka said while the initiative would cause the government to bear minimum premium, it would also provide life security cover for all of them.
The initiative would also provide great relief to the family members of such traders and industrialists in case of their natural or accidental death, Moonka said adding that the measure would also send out a constructive message among the traders and industrialists.
