School headmaster killed, two injured in C'garh bear attacks

A government school headmaster was killed and two others were injured in separate incidents of bear attacks in Chhattisgarhs Korba district.
Kathak Singh Sidar (60) who was posted at a primary school in Damaukunda village under Bango police station limits, was mauled to death by a bear last night, a local forest official said.
He added that the incident took place while Sidar was on a walk outside his home in the village which falls under Etmanagar forest range.

In another incident, a forest employee's husband was injured after he was attacked by a bear near their house under the Jatga forest range today morning, he said.
The Jatga area witnessed a similar incident yesterday in which a youth, Kanhaiya Dhanuhar (26), was injured by a bear in Vartarai village.
He said that the two were undergoing treatment in a local hospital, adding that financial assistance would be given to the kin of the deceased and to the two injured persons.
