Second batch of pilgrims leave for Haj

A second batch of 550 pilgrims from Jammu and Kashmir left for Saudi Arabia on the annual Haj pilgrimage today.

The pilgrims, including 327 males, 222 females and one child, embarked from Srinagar International Airport here in two flights for the annual pilgrimage, a government spokesperson said, adding that minister of state for Health Shabir Ahmad Khan and other officials were present at the airport to see them off.

The first batch of 550 pilgrims had left for the pilgrimage yesterday.

Flights from Srinagar to Saudi Arabia will operate till September 23, while flights back to the state will operate from October 21 to November 15, the spokesman said.
 

Earlier, the minister took stock of health care facilities made available to Haj pilgrims at the Haj House here by the health department, he added.
