Security forces defuse explosive device planted by terrorists in JK's Pulwama

A major tragedy was averted today as security forces detected and destroyed an IED in the Awantipora area of Pulwama district in Jammu and Kashmir, police said.

A foot patrol of security forces detected an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) planted by militants at Kanjinag this morning, a police official said.

A bomb disposal squad was summoned to the spot and the IED destroyed, he added.
