Select base metals up on industrial demand, global cues

Prices of nickel and lead were up by Rs 2 per kg at the local non-ferrous market today on increased industrial demand amid a firming global trend.

Traders said sentiment bolstered after nickel climbed in global markets before home sales and durable goods orders data from the US.

Meanwhile, nickel for delivery in three months rose 0.5 per cent to USD 15,675 a metric tonne on the London Metal Exchange.

In the national capital, nickel (4x4) rose by Rs 2 to Rs 1,089-1,095 per kg. Lead ingot and lead imported also advanced by similar margin to Rs 102 and Rs 103 per kg respectively.
 

Following are today's metal rates (in Rs per kg):

Zinc ingot 110-116, Nickel plate (4x4) 1,089-1,095, Gun metal scrap 227, Bell metal scrap 229, Copper mixed scrap 418, Chadri deshi 285.

Lead ingot 102, Lead imported 103, Aluminium ingots 164, Aluminium sheet cutting 165, Aluminium wire scrap 167 and Aluminium utensils scrap 164.
