Select copra gains in lacklustre trade

Copra rajapur mumbai and copra edible mumbai gained in an otherwise lacklustre spices market here today following good demand from stockists and retailers.

Rest all other spices ruled steady in absence of any worthwhile buying activity.

Copra rajapur mumbai surged by Rs 300 per quintal to Rs 9,500 from Tuesday's close Rs 9,200 and copra edible mumbai regained by Rs 200 per quintal to Rs 8,200 as against Rs 8,000 yesterday.

Following are today's closing rates (in Rs with previous rates in brackets):

Black pepper (per kg) 670/750 (670/750), ginger bleached (per kg) 140 (140), ginger unbleached (per kg) 160 (160), copra office Alappuzha (per quintal) 6,700 (6,700), copra office Kozhikode (per quintal) 6,600 (6,600), copra Rajapur Mumbai (per quintal) 9,500 (9,200), copra edible Mumbai (per quintal) 8,200 (8,000).
