Select copra surge on firm demand

Copra office Alappuzha, copra office Kozhikode, Copra Rajapur and Copra edible prices surged at the spices market here following firm demand from stockists and retailers amid good export offtake.

While, other spices ruled stable in absence of any other large-scale buying activity.

Copra Rajapur climbed by Rs 500 per quintal to Rs 19,000 from Tuesday's closing level of Rs 18,500.

Copra office Kozhikode advanced by Rs 300 per quintal to Rs 14,000 as compared to Rs 13,700 previously.

Copra office Alappuzha and Copra edible prices rose by Rs 200 per quintal each to Rs 14,200 and Rs 16,700 as against Rs 14,000 and Rs 16,500 yesterday.

 

Following are today's closing rates (in Rs with previous rates in brackets):

Black pepper (per kg) 390/450 (390/450), ginger unbleached (per kg) 125 (125), copra office Alappuzha (per quintal) 14,200 (14,000), copra office Kozhikode (per quintal) 14,000 (13,700), copra Rajapur Mumbai (per quintal) 19,000 (18,500), copra edible Mumbai (per quintal) 16,700 (16,500).
