Press Trust of India  |  Bengaluru

Miffed over denial of ticket to his son Mansoor Ali for the assembly polls, and former K Rahman today vented his anger against party leadership.

Talking to PTI, sought to know how other ministers' children got the ticket including Siddaramaiah's son and Ramalinga Reddy's daughter whereas his son was denied a ticket.

"All the ministers' sons have got the ticket but why my son has been denied. Chief Minister's son was competent. Similarly, (Ramalinga Reddy's daughter) came into the party six months back," he said.

"My son had applied last time also, five years ago. Why that was not taken into consideration?," said an upset Khan.

He was also unhappy that the party did not show the courtesy to call him and tell him that issuing ticket to his son was not possible and he could have understood the difficulty of the party high command.

Khan rued that there was no proper consultation behind denying tickets.

"Generally, there is no proper consultation, certain seats have been denied. There is no reason for it. When they denied, they should give some reason," he said.

"They (high command) may be right but some decisions have been taken which I feel that somewhere senior people like us have been ignored," Khan said.

The said he would remain in the party and would bring to the notice of the party high command that certain things would weaken the party.

"It is not that everything should be left only to a few individuals in the party."

"Party means all. We represent a very important segment of the society - the minorities. And then our vote share is the highest to the party and also, we should have to have a say in the party. That's all we want," Khan added.
