Senior police officer gunned down in Pakistan

Unknown gunmen today shot dead a senior police officer in Northwest Pakistan.

DSP Bahadur Khan was on his way to drop his daughter to the school when motorcycle-borne gunmen opened fire at him near Anam Sanam Chowk in Peshawar's Gulbahar area.

Peshawar police Chief Mian Saeed said that DSP Khan's daughter narrowly escaped the attack.

The gunmen managed to flee from the scene.

Police have cordoned off the crime scene and launched a search operation in the area to nab the culprits.
