Seven Indians advance to 2nd round in World Junior Squash

All the seven Indians, who took the field for their first round matches of individual competitions, emerged victorious on the opening day of the WSF-World Junior Squash Championship in Eindhoven, Netherlands today.

Aishwary Singh received a walk over from his Spanish opponent Nilo Vidal in the boys' section while Akanksha Salunkhe breezed past Kuzivakwashe Madungwe of Zimbabwe without conceding a point in the girls' section.

The Results:

Boys: Aishwary Singh w/o Nilo Vidal (Spain); Vikas Mehra bt Eissa Mohammad (Kuwait) 11-5, 13-11, 9-11, 11-9; Adithya Raghavan bt Thijs Van Der Pluijm (Netherlands) 11-6, 11-3, 11-3.

Girls: Sunayna Kuruvilla bt Victoria Leow (Aus) 12-10, 13-11, 7-11, 11-4; Jui Kalgutkar bt Kato Verwilt (Belgium) 11-3, 11-3, 11-1; Nikita Joshi bt Annika Engstrom (Sweden) 11-9, 11-3, 11-4; Akanksha Salunkhe bt Kuzivakwashe Madungwe (Zimbabwe) 11-0, 11-0, 11-0.
