At least eleven tourists and three locals were injured in a clash at Merces village near Panaji this morning.
"There was a fight between a group of tourists from Maharashtra and local people over a petty issue," Deputy Superintendent of Police Nelson Albuqurque said.
One of the tourists had an argument with a local person at a restaurant which turned into a clash between two groups, he said.

The locals attacked the bus carrying tourists with sharp weapons, damaging it completely. A total of eleven tourists and three locals were injured, the DSP said.
Police registered a case of rioting against several people and arrested three local persons.
