Police constable Rambir Singh today surrendered in a court here in connection with the killing of Head Constable Shakir Ali in 2011.

Additional district sessions judge Amber Rawat sent Singh to jail custody and fixed the next date of hearing on December 11.

Delhi-based advocate Bharat Vir Tomar allegedly abducted and murdered Head Constable Shakir Ali on April 3, 2011, after he opposed his wife's illicit relationship with Tomar.

Singh is Tomar's brother.

Police registered a case against Tomar and Shakir Ali's wife Reshma and mother-in-law Ishrat Jahan in connection with the killing. Tomar and Reshma were subsequently arrested.

Later, Rambir Singh was named an accused and an arrest warrant was issued against him.
