One suspect was in custody after a shooting at Purdue University in the midwestern US state of Indiana, but officials did not immediately provide details on any possible injuries today.
The university reported that the shooting took place in the electrical engineering building on Tuesday morning.
"Police have cleared the building and continue to search the area. People should remain sheltered in place until further notice," Purdue said in an alert posted on its website and on Twitter.

The sprawling campus in West Lafayette, Indiana serves nearly 40,000 students. Purdue employs more than 15,000 faculty and staff members.
