Shops at market pulled down in an anti-encroachment drive in

In an anti-encroachment drive, police have registered FIR against 169 shopkeepers for encroaching on roadsides and footpaths in busy markets here, police said today.

Shops and business establishments in many crowded areas had allegedly encroached upon the pavements.

Police while evicting the encroached areas, have also registered FIR against 169 people in the last 2-3 days.

Yesterday, an anti-encroachment drive was conducted by the police in Godowalia and Dashashwmedh following which FIR was registered against 96 shopkeepers.

Police has also registered FIR against 73 shopkeepers in Kotwali, Chowk and Luxa area for allegedly encroaching on the roadside and footpaths here.
 

The anti-encroachment drive is still on and a strict warning has been given to shopkeepers to free the encroached land in busy commercial areas, or they will have to face action.
