SI dies in mishap

: A police sub-inspector was

killed when the car he was driving hit a roadside tree in neighbouring Virudhunagar district today, police said.

B Gopikannan was on his way to Theni district after attending the wedding of his younger brother, when the mishap occurred at Thailakulam near Malli, said police.

He was rushed to a nearby hospital with serious injuries but succumbed without responding to treatment.
