Siblings go missing in river Ganga

Two siblings drowned in river Ganga near Gangahat ghat under Manihari police station in Bihar's Katihar district today, an official said.

The siblings, identified as Ashish (16) and Manisha (14) were taking bath in the river, when they accidentally fell in deep waters and were feared drowned, the Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) Arun Kumar Singh said.

Divers have been pressed into service to recover the bodies, he said.

The two were natives of neighbouring Khagaria district and had gone to Katihar to stay with their uncle during vacation, Singh added.
